Best time to visit Jerez
Of course, the best time to travel to Jerez is whenever you can. Every season has its own charms and possibilities. But here are a few tips that might be useful for planning your vacation.

The climate in Jerez is very pleasant and the weather is actually good all year round; lots of sun, light and blue sky are the rule here, we are not on the "Coast of Light" for nothing, the name says it all. The area is characterized by very warm summers and mild winters. Of course it can always rain, but between June and September this is rather rare, we've got rainfalls mainly in winter. Accordingly, the nature in spring (around June) is refreshingly green and colorful, which some might not expect from Andalusia. Balm for the mind, if the winter was cold and gray. The months of July and August may get too hot for some. Moreover, these are also the holiday months here in Spain, so it can be a bit crowded on the coast, while Jerez is then rather quiet. Autumn, on the other hand, offers very pleasant temperatures again. For your orientation, see also the climate table for Jerez below.

The local calendar of events is also pretty well filled with interesting festivals and events throughout the year in Jerez. Here is a small selection for inspiration (please keep in mind that some festivals have no fixed date and this information is therefore only rough):

  • January / February: Flamenco-Festival (2 weeks), Carnival, especially in Cádiz
  • March / April: Semana Santa (Easter week, Holy Week)
  • May: Feria del Caballo ("Horse Fair", THE great festival), World Motorcycle Championship
  • June: Copa Jerez Gastronomic Competition, Wine Fair Vinoble
  • July / August: many Music Events, also Flamenco, e.g. "Fiesta de la Bulería"
  • September: Vintage Wine Festival (2 weeks), European Equestrian Day
  • October / November: Flamenco in Autumn, International Sherry-Week, Day of Wine Tourism (1 Woche)
  • December: Zambombas (typical flamenco-flavoured pre-Christmas)
